The Wijthmenerplas, southeast of Zwolle, was created in the 70s by sand extraction for construction of dikes and roads. After the sand extraction, the lake was laid out as a recreational area with beaches and hiking trails. The lake is also frequently visited by fishermen and divers. Since 2009, outside the school holiday period, also (music) events held at the west side of the lake. The nudist beach is then via one alternative route accessible.
If due to the efforts of the municipality of Zwolle the lake all year round
more to use, there has been a water cable ski run since the end of 2015
established.
Fortunately, thanks to the diving club, the course is a piece
moved in a westerly direction, so that it is slightly further from the nudist beach
finished.

Nudist recreation is on a small section on the east side of the lake (around 0.5 hectares)
Allowed.

There is a small sandy beach on the nudist beach, further on
there are lawns with sufficient shady spots.
The bathing water has a slowly sloping bottom with a
demarcated part to a depth of approximately 1.0 meter. The puddle is approx
17 meters deep.
There are no facilities on the nudist beach, but there is a toilet block
present at 120 meters distance from the nudist beach.
