06-06-2011: Good news, the municipality of Westland has the area north of the strandslag Watertoren has already been designated as a nudist beach this year. The area runs from 30 meters from the beach entrance to the municipality border with The Hague, where it connects to the nudist beach of Kijkduin. 10-05-2011: Due to the closure of the nudist beach due to the construction of the Zandmotor is currently also taking place at the nude recreation Westland side of the Zandmotor. Due to the construction of the Zandmotor, the nudist beach will be closed throughout the 2011 beach season.
Rijkswaterstaat will close the entire building in the period from 4 March to 31 October 2011 coastal strip between the beach entrances Schelppad and Watertoren of the municipality of Westland. From 8 April 2011, a swimming ban applies from the beach of the Watertoren up to 200 meters north of this. On this location, the new Monster nudist beach is planned (open only 2012).
Zandmotor devours Monster's nudist beach.
24-02-2011 : Bad news for the visitors from Monster nudist beach. Due to the construction of the Zandmotor, a large expanse of sand just before the nudist beach becomes the nudist beach cut off from the sea. This makes it necessary to move the nudist beach.
In November 2010, an exploratory meeting was held with the naturists about the future of the nudist beach. The municipality of Westland has in this interview indicated that she wanted to keep nudist recreation in her municipality. The naturists will also be represented in the user consultation of the Zandmotor.
Just before this meeting, the municipality of Monster has a new location designated for the nudist beach. The nudist beach will be moved to the beach north of the Watertoren stand entrance and continues until the border with the municipality of The Hague. Here gets the nudist beach connection to the nudist beach of Kijkduin. Of course we are happy about that the nudist beach has not completely disappeared, but the new location has not preferred for the following reasons:
- Because the Zandmotor is located a short distance off the coast here, the "real sea feeling" is missing on this beach. By initially little current in the lagoon, the risk of silt formation is high, making swimming unattractive here.
- Soon the lagoon between the beach and the Zandmotor silt up. It is expected that after about 5 years the Zandmotor here will connect to the coast. In the meantime, there is a chance that a gully is created in the lagoon, which when the tide turns tide is dangerous. The users of the nudist beach will eventually end up on the Zandmotor, or completely are closed off from the sea.
- From the Watertoren beach entrance to the municipal border of The Hague is only 300 meters from the beach. If the nudist beach is not the nudist beach starts right next to the beach entrance shorter. From the original nudist beach with a length of 1000 meter is still there little left.
- The relocated nudist beach is by car from the side of Monster, via the Molenslag beach entrance, virtually inaccessible (minimum 3200 meters).
The preference of the naturists is for a location on the Zandmotor near the Shell Path, possibly in combination with the possibility for nude recreation at the dune lake. This is expected to be the most safe swimming location.
There is also sufficient space here to prevent the loss of it to compensate for the current nudist beach. This beach area is by car, via the beach entrance Molenslag still reasonably accessible.
It would be a pity that with the expansion of the coast with 100 hectares of new naturist nature and recreation area have to give up so much.

General
The nudist beach was closed for some time in 2010 due to coastal defense works. This work is part of the coastal reinforcement between Hoek van Holland and Scheveningen, one of the eight Weak Links in our sea defenses. There are also some photos on the page: Nudist beach Monster on the shovel.
Recreation is now fully possible again on the beach, but a lot has changed:
A new row of dunes has been created in front of the existing dunes and the beach has been widened. The front dunes on the beach, an ideal one shelter from the wind, are gone. And also the breakwaters, the so-called Delfland heads, are for the most part under the sand disappeared. Unfortunately, the nudist beach is about 300 meters shorter has become, but the beach has become much wider.
On the beach there is another depot with tubes that are needed for the further reinforcement of the coast at Kijkduin and Scheveningen, in the fall of 2010.
In 2011 there are already new changes in stack. The province of South Holland is here at the height of it nudist beach to build a so-called sand engine. The Zandmotor is going look like a hook, protruding 1.5 kilometers into the sea. On the beach then lies a base two kilometers wide. This hook goes north van Ter Heijde, near the nature reserve Solleveld.

Nude recreation is permitted 5 m south of beach post 109.5 and ending 200 m north of beach post 109.00. This is about 350 meters north of the beach entrance Schelppad and 250 meters south of beach entrance Water tower. The area is signposted.
There are no facilities on the nudist beach. Well be at the beach entrance Molenslag, two beach pavilions available.
On the north side is the nudist beach of Kijkduin, 650 meters away. Nude recreation also occurs in the area between the two nudist beaches.
There is no bathing supervision on the nudist beach, the closest one rescue post is located located 2000 meters from the southern border, near the dam 11.
