Due to the construction of the Zandmotor (2011), an artificial hooked peninsula, is the nudist beachbetween the beach entrance Schelppad and Watertoren will be cancelled. The northern hook of the Zandmotor is in front of the nudist beach,creating a lagoon with a width of about 200meters. This lagoon is expected to become increasingly narrow and thehead of the Zandmotor to get connected to the beach of Kijkduin. On the northern connecting nudist beach of Kijkduin, withat low tide the lagoon is almost completely dry and the crossing to theZandmotor are made. The part of the Zandmotor in front of the nudist beach is also used for nude recreation. On the websiteflickr.comthere are many aerial photos of the Zandmotor, which show the development of theZandmotor is easy to follow. The Zandmotor and in particular the lagoon in front of itnudist beach, has become a popular kitesurfing location.
Nudist recreation is permitted north of beach post 108.50 up to the municipal border with The Hague (approximately at beach pole 108.25).Here the nudist beach of Monster changes into the nude beach ofKijkduin. Some dune formation has taken place on the nudist beach,excellent shelter from the wind. Recreation in the fencedunderlying dunes is not allowed.
There are no facilities on the nudist beach. The BLOWBeach House (former Klein Ockenburgh beach pavilion) is located 600 meters from the northern border.
Due to the lack of the surf, the "sea feeling" goes all the waylost. In addition, the water in the lagoon is due to silt formationunattractive for swimming.
On the nudist beach there is no bath supervision, the nearest one rescue station is located 1000 meters from the northern border.
