The Maarsseveense Plassen are located between Utrecht and Maarssen. These puddles were created in the 60s of the last century by sand extraction for the Utrecht neighborhood Overvecht. The Maarsseveense Plassen consist of two lakes with a surface area of 20 and 70 hectares respectively. The Strandbad Maarsseveense Plassen is situated on the north-west side of the Grote Plas, with a section intended for nude recreation. Admission must be paid for this part of the Maarsseveense Plassen. The so-called outside area is freely accessible and on two small beaches nude recreation tolerated. Due to the new construction of the Thermencomplex SpaSereen Maarsseveen The nudist beach area has now been given a separate entrance. An entrance ticket must first be purchased at the ticket office on the Westbroekse Binnenweg side. An online ticket does not give direct access to the nudist beach, but must be exchanged for a barcode at the cash register. Then through the parking area of the sauna to the naturist section.

The site consists of sun meadows, with lots of shelter by trees. There is also a small sandy beach with a number of play equipment for the children.
There is a toilet block and a snack container on site. The snack container is only open in nice sunny weather.
The Naturist Association Maarsseveense Plassen is committed to naturism at the lake.
The swimming water can be reached via jetties. It is forbidden to swim outside the deposited area. A special section of swimming water has also been deposited for the children.
