06-01-2021: BillyBird is currently developing a bungalow park behind the nudist beach, which will eventually make it possible nudist beach will probably disappear. Developments are (fortunately) very slow, so the nudist beach will remain open as usual in the 2024 season.

The BillyBird Park Hemelrijk is located on the southeast side of Volkel, on a former sand and gravel extraction lake of approximately 30 hectares. Since 1986, the area has been designed as a recreational lake. To the north side of the lake have increased over the years attractions have been built, so that the emphasis is no longer just on beach recreation. There is, among other things, an indoor playground, trampolines, water attractions, fast boat slide, puppet theater, beach pool, children's fair, ropes course and a heliport.

There has been room for this in a more or less separated section since 1993 nude recreation. The nudist beach is located at a considerable distance from it busy part with many attractions. On the website of the recreation park, no further information can be found about it Nudist beach.

The nudist beach has a sunbathing lawn with a sandy beach. There is a mobile toilet on the nudist beach. There are  few shady places. There is a slide for the children. There are none further facilities available. Of course visitors can nudist beach (clothed!) use all facilities the recreation park.

The swimming water is very clear and has a striking blue color. By means of Due to the low acidity, the swimming water is not sensitive to blue-green algae. On the side there is a fairly flat underwater plateau with a depth of approximately 0.4 meters. The width varies from a few meters to about 30 meters. Because of the clear water this plateau is clearly visible. Beyond this plateau it becomes swimming water deep quickly. There is no cordoned off swimming area it is not suitable for children and inexperienced swimmers. To this There is no swimming supervision in part of the lake.
